WebChromebooks have some weird hardware and Chrome OS ships with a custom kernel that's able to use this hardware. The chrubuntu script will steal that kernel and use it for your Linux use. If you try to install a new kernel on top of it, your hardware won't work. My suggestion is to run xubuntu instead of Ubuntu Studio.
