But Turkey stuck in English translations, even within the country itself. WebTurkey seems close enough to what it is in Turkish, whilst making it easily pronounceable for English speakers. Turning it into Turkiye makes it more likely that people will pronounce it wrong. I find it much more understandable for countries where the difference is much greater, i.e. Hungary, Germany, Finland, Greece, etc.
