The process consumes an enormous amount of water and you don't really need that moral boost from making liceloaf in the early game. Webthe only real benefit I can see to mealwood is to generate seeds for pacu farms, but that can be maintained easily with a few meal wood farms. you only need 1 seed every 3 days and you're probably generating a ton of other plants as well. so you should be fine with a small plot of meal wood farm or get rid of it entirely if you have other farms …
