I tried the advice, disconnected the bluetooth, and did a hard shut down by popping out the battery on the b-berry. Everything seems to have reset and working properly. Thanksfor the help! To do this, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the system reboots. Once it comes back on, try pairing your phone again.
